Legislative Alert: CRT Bills in Committee Hearings at Georgia Capitol

From James Quarles with Heritage Action for America:

Good afternoon!

The Georgia Senate Education and Youth Committee will hold a hearing on SB 377, the Senate’s main CRT bill, on Monday at 3pm.

We need parents with stories of CRT impacting their children in public schools, as well as general supporters of the bill, to be at the capitol to testify.

Anyone wishing to testify should arrive at the capitol around 12pm on Monday to get parked, get inside, use the bathroom, etc., and get to the committee room. You should arrive at the committee room (Room 307 in the Coverdell Legislative Office Building) NO LATER THAN 2pm in order to be in line to sign up to testify. Once in line, do not get out of line until you’ve signed up, or until they are no longer accepting signatures. Even if you aren’t able to testify, stay if possible to show your support for the bill.

The most convenient parking is the Pete Hackney Parking Deck located at 162 Jesse Hill Jr Dr SE, Atlanta, GA 30303.

Attached to this email is a Myth vs. Fact sheet for SB 377. Please reach out to me at [email protected] with any questions.

The House Education committee may also be holding a hearing on the House’s bill, HB 1084, on Wednesday the 9th. The time is not set yet, but be on the lookout for further details as they become available.

If you can’t be there on Monday, Wednesday is just as important an opportunity. We need people at both hearings!

Feel free to forward this message to interested like-minded parents or other individuals.

Thanks!

James
