In August, the Franklin Roundtable Board of Directors sent a letter to Gov. Brian Kemp calling for a full audit of the November 2020 election. While the constitutional duties of the Governor do not include the oversight and management of elections, the Governor can provide leadership in this important area of public policy. If you are interested in an audit of Georgia elections, contact your state representative and senator and share your thoughts with them. You can find their contact information on the General Assembly website.
Feel free to use the letter below as a resource.

Re: Call for an independent forensic audit of Georgia’s election system
Dear Governor Kemp:
As an organization dedicated to individual liberty and constitutionally limited self-government, we, the undersigned board members of the Franklin Roundtable applaud you for signing Senate Bill 202 into law. We strongly supported efforts to pass SB 202 and worked very hard to get it passed.
We have appreciated your strong stance in the face of withering public criticism leveled by the media and leaders of large Georgia-based corporations, such as The Coca-Cola Company and Delta Air Lines. Thank you for continuing to set the record straight and confront the dishonesty that has been spread about the new voting law.
Information has now emerged of clear evidence of voter fraud in Fulton County during the 2020 election, as you well know. We implore you to support a full forensic audit of 2020/2021 elections, including an audit of the votes recorded on Georgia’s voting machines. We believe this should be an independent investigation conducted in such a manner that the results of the investigation will be above reproach.
While SB 202 is unquestionably a step in the right direction toward ensuring that only legitimate votes are cast in future elections, the bill does not address the possibility that vote outcomes might be illicitly manipulated within the voting machines themselves. That concern can only be put to rest by an independent forensic audit. Claims by the machine’s purveyors and those who authorized their purchase understandably do not have sufficient credibility to allay voters’ concerns.
As long as there is reasonable suspicion that Dominion voting machine outputs can be manipulated, public confidence in the integrity of Georgia’s elections, as well as the state’s elected leaders, is undermined. That might well lead to a decline in citizen participation in the upcoming crucial 2022 and 2024 elections, similar to what was experienced in the 2021 runoff.
Since the 2022 and 2024 elections are likely to be pivotal to the future course of our state and nation, it is imperative that every effort be made to assure the public that the state is conducting comprehensive investigations into the conduct of the 2020/2021 elections – including whether the Dominion voting machines can be illicitly breached. Without that assurance, the unfortunate perception is that you are willing to accept mounting evidence of massive fraud. Ironically, that perception is bolstered by the fact that the legislature found it necessary to pass and for you to sign SB 202.
We understand that the state has significant contractual obligations to Dominion. Do those obligations mean that Georgians have no choice but to forever accept potentially false election outcomes? Should a forensic audit reveal that those machines can be breached, might not those obligations be successfully challenged?
Proactive actions by you to resolve these questions may give people additional confidence in your leadership on this matter.
The people of Georgia need to know that only eligible citizens vote and that those votes will be counted and reported correctly. To leave that an open question is to bow to the opponents of government of, by and for the people.
We believe it is imperative for you to support a full forensic audit. We would like to understand your thoughts about this issue and what actions you plan to take, so feel free to respond to this letter.
Thank you for your time and for your service to our great state.
Sincerely,
Franklin Roundtable Board of Directors and Advisory Board Members
